About my banjos…

Benjamin banjos are hand crafted in Somerset, UK.

Starting from careful wood selection, right through every step of the build process I strive to produce the finest instrument possible. All work is done by hand, with attention to detail ensuring the highest standards.

My rims are steam bent three or more ply laminations which are both strong, and resonant.

My necks are two, or three piece construction with carbon fibre rod reinforcement as standard.

I currently use the best quality hardware available, sourced from either Rickard or Balsam, and Gotoh tuners.

The result is a banjo that is aesthetically pleasing and a pleasure to play.

All instruments come with a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner should any issues due to manufacture arise.

Prices start at £1650 fretted, and £1550 fretless base models with bridge and nut slots cut for either steel or nylgut strings. Different hard wood accenting, tone ring options and inlay work available on request and priced accordingly.

I generally work with either Maple, Cherry or Walnut, but other woods such as Ash or Oak are available. I love trying new combinations so if you have a particular vision for a beautiful banjo in your minds-eye, feel free to reach out and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
